SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic small molecule agonist of oestrogen-related receptors α and γ (ERRα/ERRγ) — transcription factors that govern mitochondrial energy metabolism and oxidative phosphorylation gene expression. By activating these receptors, SLU-PP-332 may upregulate the same gene networks induced by aerobic exercise training, including mitochondrial biogenesis, fatty acid oxidation, and slow-twitch muscle fibre conversion. Preclinical rodent models demonstrate improved endurance capacity, reduced obesity, and improved cardiac function. It is currently the subject of early-stage exercise mimetic research.
