Talglow™ — Beef Tallow + GHK-Cu Topical Cream
Application protocol
Quick Reference
Overview
Talglow is a topical formulation combining purified beef tallow with GHK-Cu (Copper Peptide) and Blue Methanol. Beef tallow is structurally similar to human sebum, rich in oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids as well as fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K — making it a highly skin-compatible carrier. GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring tripeptide-copper complex with documented effects on collagen and elastin synthesis, skin barrier repair, and anti-inflammatory signalling. Research applications include skin barrier restoration studies, wound healing models, and anti-ageing peptide delivery investigations.
Dosing & Reconstitution Guide
| Phase | Daily Dose | Units | Volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1–2 (sensitisation) | Once daily — small area patch test first | 0.5 FTU | ~0.25 mL equivalent |
| Weeks 3–6 | Twice daily — morning and evening | 0.5–1 FTU per application | ~0.25–0.5 mL equivalent |
| Weeks 7–12 (maintenance) | Once or twice daily as tolerated | 1 FTU per application | ~0.5 mL equivalent |
Reconstitution Instructions
Talglow is a ready-to-use topical cream — no reconstitution is required.
Cleanse and pat dry the target skin area before application.
Using clean fingertips or a sterile spatula, scoop a pea-sized amount (≈0.5 FTU) for small areas or one fingertip unit (≈1 FTU) for larger areas.
Apply in thin, even strokes and massage gently into the skin using circular motions until absorbed.
For facial application, apply after serums and before any occlusive layers.
Replace the jar lid immediately after use to prevent oxidation of the tallow base.

Supplies Needed
- ✓Talglow Cream (20 mL jar): 1–2 jars
- ✓Sterile applicator spatulas (optional): Supply for duration
- ✓Gentle skin cleanser: Per use
Dosing Protocol
Schedule
Apply once daily initially; increase to twice daily (morning and evening) from week 3 if well-tolerated. Evening application allows maximum absorption during overnight skin repair cycles.
Application Area
Apply to face, neck, hands, or any target skin area under study. Avoid broken skin, open wounds, or mucous membranes.
Cycle Length
4–12 weeks. Skin remodelling driven by GHK-Cu typically requires 8+ weeks of consistent use to reach measurable endpoints (collagen density, elasticity, texture scoring).
Storage & Handling
- ✓Store in a cool, dry location at 15–22 °C away from direct sunlight.
- ✓Do not store in humid environments (e.g., bathrooms) — tallow-based creams are susceptible to oxidative rancidity with heat and moisture.
- ✓Refrigeration is acceptable and may extend shelf life; allow the cream to reach room temperature before application.
- ✓Use a clean spatula or freshly washed hands to scoop product — finger contamination accelerates microbial spoilage.
- ✓Discard if the cream develops an off-odour (rancidity), discolouration, or changes in texture.
Important Notes
- ✓All products sold by JA Performance Peptides are intended strictly for laboratory research purposes and are not approved for human consumption, veterinary use, or therapeutic application. Not for human use.
- ✓Perform a 24–48 hour patch test on the inner arm before full application; discontinue if irritation, redness, or urticaria develops.
- ✓Beef tallow is an animal-derived ingredient; not suitable for vegan research subjects.
- ✓GHK-Cu may cause a mild, transient skin flushing in some subjects — this typically resolves within 20–30 minutes.
- ✓For research photography endpoints, standardise lighting, camera distance, and skin moisture status at each imaging session.
- ✓Blue Methanol provides a cooling sensation on application; this is expected and is not indicative of irritation.
